Judith Lerner specializes in the history and visual culture of Iran and Central Asia. She received her M.A. in Art and Archaeology from Columbia University and her Ph.D. in Ancient Art from Harvard University. She co-curated the seminal exhibition, Monks and Merchants: Silk Road Treasures from Northwest China (Asia Society NY, 2001) with Annette L. Juliano, and has subsequently published extensively on the funerary art of the Sogdian communities in China. She also serves as a co-editor of the Journal of Inner Asian Art and Archaeology. This conversation follows her Arts of Asia lecture, “Sogdian Traders and Others Along the Silk Roads".

The Society for Asian Art's cancellation policy requires at least one week's advance written notice in order to receive a refund of registration fees. This excludes our Travel programs, which have separate cancellation policies, as well as any programs where a specific refund policy is stated on the event page. Your fees will be returned to you through a check in the mail. To cancel, please contact us.

For programs located within the Asian Art Museum, the museum entrance fee must be paid separately and is not included with your registration fee.
