Update on September 23 Arts of Asia Lecture

September 23 Arts of Asia Lecture is a Zoom Webinar

The original speaker for this lecture canceled due to health reasons. We were able to find a new speaker, but unfortunately the new speaker is unable to travel to San Francisco. So, this lecture will be presented as a Zoom webinar.

We will broadcast the Zoom webinar on the large screen in Samsung Hall for those who would like to join friends at the museum to watch.

September 16 Study Group on Gamelan Music Now Hybrid

The September 16 Study Group, Western Engagements with the Gamelan Music of Java and Bali, will now be held both in-person in Samsung Hall and on Zoom webinar. The advance registration deadline has been extended through the end of the day on Monday, Sept. 12. If you haven't yet, please sign up today!

The Fall 2022 Arts of Asia Lectures Begin Tomorrow, Aug. 19, 2022

Join us for the first lecture of the Arts of Asia fall series in-person in Samsung Hall tomorrow! See old friends and visit museum exhibitions!

Lectures will be broadcast simultaneously on Zoom. So, if you are unable to attend in-person, please join the Zoom webinar. We will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. and end promptly at 12:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Please tell friends who did not sign up for the lecture series that they may attend individual lectures as a drop-in attendee. The drop-in fee is $25 per person after museum admission fee.

June 2, 2022 Annual Meeting & Reception

The Annual Meeting and Reception took place on Thurs., June 2 in Samsung Hall at the Asian Art Museum. Those in attendance were able to mingle over drinks from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. President Ehler Spliedt opened the meeting at 4:00 p.m. He thanked retiring board members, Margaret Edwards, Etsuko Kobata and Pamela Royse and presented certificates of appreciation. An election was held to elect new board members as well as those serving an additional two-year term.
