Arts of Asia Zoom Webinar FAQ's

Here is a refresher about Zoom webinars before the start of the next Arts of Asia lecture series.

Registered attendees of the lecture series can choose to attend the lectures in-person in Samsung Hall or on Zoom. Drop-ins for individual lectures are only available in-person in Samsung Hall on a space available basis.

The lectures in the Arts of Asia lecture series are organized as 14 separate Zoom webinars. Registered attendees will receive a Zoom webinar confirmation email each week, no later than Wednesday, with information on how to join that Friday's webinar. Registered attendees will also receive reminder emails one day and one hour before the webinar. All emails are sent by Zoom from no-reply@zoom.us. Please add this email address to your contacts to avoid these emails being placed in a spam folder. In addition, please do not reply to these Zoom webinar emails, because they will not be received by the SAA.

If you have problems seeing or hearing the webinar, please try adjusting the settings on your device. If that doesn't work, sometimes it is best to leave the webinar and then try to join again.

If you miss a lecture or if you want to watch the lecture again, you will have access to the video recording of the lecture the week after the lecture, as long as the speaker grants us permission to share the video. These videos are only available to registered attendees. Please email the SAA to request access to each week's video. The videos will be available for viewing up to 30 days after the last lecture in the series.

The study guides for each lecture are posted on the webpage for the lecture series. If applicable, additional resources, such as an optional reading list, presentation slides, articles, and key words, will also be posted on the webpage of each lecture series.

Even though it is not required by Zoom, we recommend that you download and install Zoom on your computer or mobile device in advance, and set yourself up with a free account. Attendees will have a chance to participate in the Q&A during the webinar through the Q&A feature.

Lastly, in the Zoom webinar confirmation emails there is a message that states that "you can cancel your registration at any time." This refers only to the particular Zoom webinar. It does not mean that you can cancel your registration for the Arts of Asia lecture series and receive a refund. Our cancellation policy remains the same as before, i.e. you can only receive a refund if you request it in writing to the SAA office at least seven days before the first lecture.

If you have any other questions, please contact the SAA office. Thank you.
