SAA welcomes Kate Vogt back for a stimulating presentation on yoga. This lecture will use the texts and sacred art of India from the Museum's collection to explore yoga's rich and diverse history. We will grapple with the traditional meaning and practices of yoga as being less about bodily shape than about the inner attitudes and clarity of mind. Yoga's several-thousand-year evolution has a few foundational concepts that will give us insight into the upcoming exhibition "Yoga: The Art of Transformation."

Kate Vogt teaches Yoga Philosophy and Lifestyle in yoga teacher trainings, contributes to the Yoga Journal, tutors individuals in personal practice of yoga and is co-editor of Mala of the Heart: 108 Sacred Poems.
