Where are the best green, white, and oolong teas grown? Why does Taiwan produce such good winter teas? How does elevation affect tea and why are some teas roasted with charcoal?

Learn all this and more while sampling delicious teas from China and Taiwan with tea expert Peter Luong. This very special opportunity for Society members is limited to 20 participants and will take place in a Society member’s home with a fabulous collection of Japanese art and Okinawan ceramics.

Peter Luong is a partner and principal tea buyer for San Francisco’s Red Blossom Tea Company. He oversees tea and tea ware sourcing for Red Blossom’s network of artisan producers in China and Taiwan. Since a great deal of his time is spent working alongside growers and producers at origin, he has been able to study and record traditional crafting methods.
