Stella Zhang (b. 1965, Beijing) is a San Francisco-based artist schooled in the classical traditions of Chinese art at the renowned Central Academy of Art in Beijing. Her work encompasses performance, installation, painting and sculpture.  Mary-Ann Milford-Lutzker devoted the Spring 2016 issue of “Lotus Leaves” to Zhang’s art, writing:  “Today her art is expressed in the visual language of the contemporary global art world, where art is no longer neatly categorized by national boundaries, nor confined by borders, frames, or museum spaces.” For more on her art, please visit stellazhang.net

Abby Chen is Curator and Deputy Director of the Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco.  In 2008, she inaugurated the "Xian Rui Annual Art Series" at CCF, showcasing mid-career Chinese artists living in the US, the first of its kind in this country.  She is a contributing writer for Yishu, Art China and other periodicals.  Abby Chen holds an MA in Visual and Critical Studies from California College of the Arts.
