Yoga, which originated in India, is not merely re-inventing and thriving, but has gone viral globally. To better gain some new insights into the essence of Yoga and its roots during the present exhibition on Yoga, Prasad will take us through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, the quintessential scripture of Hindu philosophy and faith. He will talk about the four principal yogas as expounded in the Gita. Understanding the underlying philosophical purpose behind the physical postures of yoga deepens and enriches our appreciation of this ancient and popular way of life.

Prasad Vepa, a retired corporate executive, hails from Chennai and has a deep interest in the Vedanta, the essence of Hindu philosophy and how it is applied to day-to-day living. He has given many talks on the Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita in the Bay Area, having studied for many years with the gurus at the Chinmaya Mission.
