Mrs. Poster is an independent curator and a consultant on museum strategic planning in New York, specializing in Asian Art. She is Curator Emerita of Asian Art at the Brooklyn Museum, where she was Curator and Chair of the Asian Art Department from 1989 to 2006. A recognized expert in the field of Asian art history, she has curated numerous special exhibitions and edited and authored their affiliated catalogues. She presently serves on numerous art advisory committees, including the Rubin Museum, Islamic Art Visiting Committee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Board of the Japanese Art Society of America, the International Committee of the Japan Society Gallery, the Art Advisory Committee of Olana Historic Site, and the Advisory Group of the Friends of Khmer Culture, Inc.

This conversation will follow Mrs. Poster’s Arts of Asia lecture on western collectors of asian art in America.

Registration Policies

The Society for Asian Art's cancellation policy requires at least one week's advance written notice in order to receive a refund of registration fees. This excludes our Travel programs, which have separate cancellation policies, as well as any programs where a specific refund policy is stated on the event page. Your fees will be returned to you through a check in the mail. To cancel, please contact us.

For programs located within the Asian Art Museum, the museum entrance fee must be paid separately and is not included with your registration fee.

Please note that by registering for a program, you are giving consent to the SAA to be photographed or videoed as a participant.
