The Institute of East Asian Studies, U.C. Berkeley, is sponsoring a Shanghai Conference, “Modern and Modernity: Visual Narratives of Interwar Shanghai”. It will be held on Saturday, March 6 from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm at the Berkeley Art Museum. Admission is free. Among the foremost speakers are the Asian Museum’s Jay Xu and Michael Knight. The Conference is held in conjunction with the Shanghai Celebration Partners Events throughout the year and the AAM's special Exhibition on Shanghai from Feb. 12 through mid. Sept. 2010.
