We will visit this well-known College devoted to North Indian classical music, founded by the late Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. We will observe classes taught by his son Alam Khan, a sarode player, as well as visit the class taught by well-known tabla player Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. Attendees have the possibility of meeting for dinner at a nearby restaurant before the visit.

Alam Khan and the College were featured in the film “Play Like a Lion“ shown at the Asian Art Museum last year. Alam Khan was also featured in a concert organized by the Society at the Asian last February. World renowned tabla player and teacher Swapan Chaudhuri is well known to Bay area audiences for his tabla playing skills.
