Rasa is mood, emotion and the “tasting” of the mood conveyed by the tones and form of a piece of art or music. Rasa is an essential part of India’s theory of art. While looking and listening to a selected collection of fine art, sculpture and music, we will explore the meaning of rasa through words such as taste, relish, essence and explore the connection between emotion and creative expression.

Silvia Nakkach is a pioneer in the field of music and sound healing. She is an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist  who founded the Vox Mundi School of the Voice to teach and preserve sacred and unusual musical traditions. She is on the faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and has released and appeared on numerous albums.
