Su Wai will sing and play the saung gauk (Burmese harp) and her husband Rick Heizman will give a fascinating talk about life, music and the situation in Burma (Myanmar).

A top player and singer in Burma, Su Wai recently moved to the U.S., quickly becoming known throughout the Burmese communities and in great demand to perform for both Burmese cultural and Buddhist events. Rick Heizman, a multi-faceted musician, has produced CDs of Burmese music. Many visits to Burma over decades have given him a unique knowledge and insight of the culture. Aside from being known for his ethnomusicology work there, he is involved in humanitarian and educational causes to help the people of Burma.
